Frankie’s Friends helped Diamond receive emergency surgery to amputate a damaged tail bone. This is a note from her family.

My beautiful black Diamond is my baby. She is 10 years old and I have been her momma since she was 8 weeks old. I am so blessed that she is primarily a healthy little girl and I have never had any health issues with her. When her tail got hurt, it was so scary because she was so lethargic and had a fever and she is only 10 years old. And many say a life expectancy for labs is 13 years and I would tell people, “Nope! She will be over 20!” She is my companion, my sweet girl. Her tail is so bad right now with bone exposed and I just want to cry. I did cry when we got to the vet and he told me how much it would be to help her and I knew I couldn’t afford it. Getting help with this would mean the world to me and to Diamond. This could give her back her health that she has had and keep her with me, her mommy, for another 10 years. And that would make me happy because then she would get to meet my future grandchildren. I don’t have any yet, but I will. And I want to see them together, because she is the most loving and sweet little girl in the world. It would mean everything to be able to help my baby girl. It would mean life, to both of us. You see, I have cancer and I am disabled. She has been with me through all of it. Loving me, watching me, comforting me, and I am about to face Chemo once again. She was there through the first time, I need her with me through this time too. And that is why it is life for me and for her to get this help.
