Lola is a three year old English Bulldog. One day a few weeks ago we Lola was very weak and sick. We let her rest for a few days until we noticed that she wasn't getting any better. The next day we took her to the doctor and she was diagnosed with a double ear infection along with a bladder infection. She was sent home with a few antibiotics and we started treating her at home. Days passed and every time we would nourish Lola with the antibiotics that she needed to take, she would vomit everything. Then we noticed that she refused to eat. We tried everything but she seemed to turn away from everything we tried to feed her. We knew that we had to figure out what was wrong. We took her to the doctor again and that time they took an x-ray. They then diagnosed her with severe Pneumonia. That's not all. They found something on her heart. The doctor thought it might be a tumor or just a part of the pneumonia. They sent the x-ray to a specialist who would take a look at it the next day to determine what is by her heart. Meanwhile, Lola was transferred to the BluePearl Emergency Medical Animal Hospital in Tampa, in critical condition. She was hooked up to an IV and they identified the object by the heart as part of the pneumonia. With the ear infection and the bladder infection not a worry anymore, the medical hospital ran tests and found that Lola's right kidney has completely shut down, with kidney stones. The kidney stones were in her right kidney and completely shut it down. There was the slimmest chance that Lola would make it out of surgery because of her pneumonia. She wouldn't be able to breathe. The other choice was to put her down. It was heartbreaking and we didn't know if she would make it out all right. We decided to go along with the surgery but we couldn't do it without the help of the most generous people at Frankie's Friends.

We are so grateful to have caring people donate their money for other people. Thank you so much. Meanwhile, Lola's surgery went perfectly! They took out her kidney along with all of the stones.

Lola is now a happy, healthy bulldog! Frankie's Friends is an organization that we will never forget.
