Dear Frankie's Friends, My 6-year-old female short-haired Dachshund was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease known as Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. Emma's survival is contingent upon weekly blood screenings, blood transfusions, and several immunosuppressants administered daily.
I am a Social Worker currently working at a non-for-profit drug treatment facility servicing at-risk women in Brooklyn. As one can imagine from my chosen profession, Emma's care has been a great financial hardship. And since her treatment is ongoing, there is no end in sight for my concerns over her care. This dog has brought more joy into my life than I could have ever imagined so I will not put a price on Emma's life. The generosity of Frankie's Friends has given me a newfound hope that Emma will be able to pull through this. Emma and I are forever grateful for your assistance and support.
Thank you again, Frankie's Friends!
