HurricaneS Helene & MILTON Disaster Relief

The impact of both Hurricanes Helene and Milton has destroyed many communities and has had one of the most devastating impacts on the region in decades. The storm has left multiple rescues, families, and pets in dire need of support. Frankie's Friends is working with several disaster relief teams and mobile veterinary units to assist these animals, but we need your help. The life-threatening storm surge, catastrophic winds and flooding have left thousands without power, medical supplies, and the ability to access the veterinary care their pets need. Accidents and injuries can happen every day, but especially in the wake of a natural disaster. Frankie's Friends is asking you to help. We will be a resource for pets in need of lifesaving emergency and specialty veterinary care as a result of this storm. We will help rescues, shelters, and families in need of care for their pets, but we can only do this with your support. Please consider making a donation to help pets affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton today.

Unicoi County Animal in Erwin, TN was not only flooded, but waste water has spewed sewage throughout their facility. It's uninhabitable. Fortunately all of their animals were moved out into temporary foster homes before the storm and are safe. But, the facility is in complete disrepair and the fosters are in need of supplies to provide continued care for these animals.

Frankie's Friends made a gift to replace the supplies, food, and equipment that were lost during the Hurricane.

The Almost Home Wellness Center (AHWC) in Aiken, SC saves animals from high-kill shelters in South Carolina and Georgia, caring for precious dogs who are too young or too ill to be transported to their main rescue, Home for Good Dogs in NJ.

They said, "The situation has taken a devastating turn. We officially have zero water and no electricity, with no expected return for weeks. There is no way for our staff to clean kennels. There’s no air conditioning, and the temperatures are rising rapidly. Our outdoor dog pens and fencing have been completely destroyed. Most of our Aiken team members cannot even reach the facility due to downed trees and power lines throughout Aiken County. We cannot do laundry. Our kennels cannot be cleaned appropriately. The situation currently is EMERGENT and DIRE."

Frankie's Friends made a donation to support replacing the medical supplies that were lost as a result of the storm.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, NC is a complete loss. They were also able to move animals out of their shelter before the storm, but they have lost all supplies, food, equipment, etc. and are in desperate need of help to weather the aftermath of the storm.

Frankie's Friends made a donation to help provide supplies for the 137 animals currently in temporary foster homes, awaiting their forever homes while the rescue tries to begin rebuilding.

Sweet Bear Rescue Farm in Flat Rock, NC was in the direct path of Hurricane Helene. They remain without power and are doing their best to find gas to keep their generators running so the animals are safe. The main home sustained major structural damage, there's over 20 down trees on the property, and they faced overwhelming flood damage.

Frankie's Friends made a donation to help provide essential gasoline for the generators until the power comes back on.

This is just the start. This is just the beginning of our efforts to help save lives. But we need your support.

The extent of the damage is being revealed every day and it's overwhelming. The water and flooding is still days/weeks away from receding in some areas. The risk and the urgency is tremendous.

Many families have lost everything and are unable to provide the care their pets need as a result. Frankie's Friends is ready to assist family loved pets, shelters, mobile veterinary units, and animal rescue efforts to ensure pets don't suffer as a result of Hurricane Helene's devastation. With your help we can do even more to be a vital resource during this catastrophic time.

Please donate today and together we can make a genuine impact.
