To the trusties of the Zeus Varis Fund foundation,
My name is Michelle, and my fur-baby, Shockey, and I cannot begin to express the gratitude we have for assisting us with this situation. I have had Shockey since he was 12 weeks old. He is now 11 1/2 years old but still as active as ever. We usually joke that he takes US for a walk instead of the other way around. He is the absolutely love of my life and is completely spoiled rotten (but in a good way, of course).
In October 2014, the veterinary found a tumor and suggested he have surgery to remove it. Unfortunately, during his follow-up a few months later, we found out the tumors had returned. Shockey had the surgery and radiation was the next step. During the radiation process, Shockey was extremely brave. I think I was more of a mess than he was! He would be a bit frightened at first, but towards the end, he knew what to expect and took it like the brave soldier that he is. It also helped that we would give him a treat in the car on the way home to help ease whatever pain he had.
Without the assistance of your foundation, I do not know where we would be right now. You have lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of Shockey's life, his happiness, health, and well being. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and hopefully one day, I will be able to help other pets in need, just as you have helped us.
You have been able to give my baby a second chance and we are both extremely grateful. I have attached some pictures of Shockey so you can see what a happy dog he is. I even think he knew it was his last day of radiation, because when I took a picture of him, he looks like he is smiling.
Once again, thank you so much for everything you have done for us.
