Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Valkyrie receive the lifesaving surgery she needed for an intestinal blockage that her family couldn’t afford due to Covid-19. This is a note from Valkyrie’s family.

Last year around Christmas, our 5 year old boxer who we’d had for 4 years bolted out of our front door and was hit by a car. We lost him and it devastated my now 6 year old son. He still talks to his ashes and asks if we can ever bring him back to life. In April of this year, we were lucky enough to adopt a puppy from a rescue, since our 6 year old pit who we’ve had since 6 weeks old had been sad and lonely since her companion died, and this was a great opportunity to bring some joy back to her and help my son to heal from the loss of Socko, our boxer. When we met Valkyrie, she had a sister who the foster said she was hesitant to separate her from, but that she would if necessary. We ended up taking both pups home and they have since become very loved members of our family.

My family would be devastated to lose Valkyrie, and are doing our best with our limited resources to provide her care. We love her to death and if it absolutely came down to it, I would be willing to relinquish her to the humane society for treatment, even knowing that we would be unable to adopt her. This would be painful to all of us, but Valkyrie’s health and survival is the most important thing. Receiving assistance allows us to treat and keep our pup in our family and we appreciate the help more than I could ever express.

Thank you for all your foundation does.
