Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Kiegi with lifesaving surgery for a pacemaker implantation. This is a note from Kiegi’s family.

To Frankie’s Friends National Fund & their gracious donors:

On behalf of my furbabies Kiegi and Kree and myself, a million thank-yous for the generous gift.

Kiegi is what I call my “first adult purchase.” I’ve had her all but 9 weeks of her life and majority of my adult life. We’ve been through so many ups and downs together. In fact, the reason why I adopted Kai and Kree were to keep her company when I worked long hours.

This is the first time I’ve ever had such financial struggles and it couldn’t come at a worse time. This year has been especially grim for me. Relocating and loss of employment in March put a great financial burden on me. The death of Kai on 6/19/21 put incredible guilt on me. Now learning of Kiegi’s health problem and not having a financial way to completely help her has put me on the brink of depression. Your donation has assisted in Kiegi having her very active life again.

Even at her advanced age, Kiegi is a puppy at heart. She thoroughly enjoys playing with squeaky toys; playing her sister Kree at home; barking at the tv when her favorite commercials come on (usually involving dogs or puppets); running and playing with fur-friends at the dog park; and going on long trail walks on the weekend. Most people don’t even believe that she’s a senior dog because of her personality, demeanor, energy and fluffy fur. Kiegi has been pretty asymptomatic. Now because your donations, Kiegi will continue the life of a rambunctious, spunky, opinionated, inquisitive and sweet senior...something I know I wish to be at her age one day.

You have my word, as soon as I am back on my feet, I will donate to organizations that support individuals and families with furbabies in my situation. I never knew that organizations like this even existed until after Kai’s death, and now because of your graciousness, I will never forget you.

Humblest Regard
— Kiegi's Family
