Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Bigby receive the emergency surgery he needed for an eye enucleation due to glaucoma. This is a note from Bigby’s family.

I am extremely grateful for your help as I’m really in a difficult place financially. I’ve lived in a group home for 5 years now and am turning 23 next week. I’m for the most part okay with my situation, getting along well with housemates and staff, but I do not have any contact with my family, which makes me sad and very lonely at times. Having grown up with dogs, I yearned for a dog of my own for so long. When I had the opportunity to adopt Bigby, a rescue, from Texas, I had to have him. He’s obviously been through a lot, as he has scars etc...I knew I could offer him a second chance at a better life, which I have. He is so sweet, and I love him very much. All the ladies in my home love the little goof ball too. I provide a good home life for him, I keep him up to date on all vaccines etc...and probably spend too much money on squeaky toys and treats. He makes my heart happy, but I know he is in pain. It breaks my heart to think of him losing his eye, but I know this is the best option for him. Thank you!
