Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Waylon receive the lifesaving, emergency surgery he needed for a shattered pelvis and dislocated hip. This is a note from his family.

We are a young family seeking help for our 3 year old Australian Shepherd, Waylon, who was hit by a truck. We went on our first family vacation in 5 plus years and had someone staying at our house to watch Waylon and he got away from her. He has injured both sides of his pelvis and his spine. on one side his pelvis is shattered which is the side they will amputate and the other side is dislocated from his spine.. this is the leg they will do surgery on (he’s expected to have 100% mobility in this leg). This is an emergency surgery that cannot wait or will start healing wrong. I know that they always say “our dog is a member of our family.” and people smirk or roll their eyes. Waylon is the glue that holds our family together. He makes us better people. He makes us patient, calm, kind. When our day goes south, he is always there for usb. He’s not just the best dog in the world, he is our family! We are desperate! We want him to be able to meet us at the door again, to get in the bed with us, and at the least, be able to use the bathroom by himself again. Thank you for helping our baby get the help that he so desperately needs! Your generosity not only brings joy to Waylon’s life, but to ours!
