I rescued Bella from a puppy mill in Arizona in 2009. I had lost my last Yorkie named Shelby to dental anesthesia at age 9 and was truly heartbroken. Bella came into my life and healed my broken heart. She has been with me through a very difficult time; including a diagnosis of lupus, the desolation of a 22 year marriage, and in 2020; a broken nose requiring emergency surgery in February 2020. A month later I was diagnosed with skin cancer on my face and neck. The morning I was scheduled to have the surgical procedure, May 4th, I received a phone call that my mother had died of Covid at her assisted living facility in New York. We had no ability to say good bye, no face time calls, no visits, and in fact she died alone, terrified, crying for her 4 daughters, and not understanding why we were not there. When the surgeon looked at me that morning, I had been crying since 6AM, he advised me that my tissue was so inflamed under my eye necessitating that we had to postpone the surgery until the end of August. The crying had deteriorated my tissue even further. I had the surgery in August and it was successful.

Since we have not been able to bury my mom or have any kind of memorial service due to Covid restrictions, I have been suffering from debilitating and severe depression as well nightly panic attacks. My only comfort during this trying time is my dog, Bella.

Bella broke a tooth eating a bone and was scheduled for routine surgery. She went into a cardiac arrest and endured a lengthy CPR compromising her recovery and needed further medical treatment. I am not employed at this time and am so grateful that you are able to assist me in saving the love of my life, Bella.
