Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Wilber receive emergency TPLO surgery. This is a note from Wilber’s family.

UPDATE from Wilbur’s Family!

“Wilber is once again his spunky, loving, playful self with a pep in his step. He is back to being the best car ride buddy, big brother to Moose, and the best home security system on the block. It is truly a gift considering he could barely walk and was not able to participate in his favorite activities just 4 months ago.

I am forever grateful for the people at Frankie's Friends and for the amazing donors that made all of this possible.

Frankie's Friends has my full pledge to donate in the future when I am able to. I would love to help someone down the road the way I have been helped.

Wilber is about 16-17 weeks post-op and has made an incredible recovery! He wouldn't be where he is today without Frankie's Friends. A friend saw him and said, "It's like he got a second life!" and I couldn't have said it better myself.

Wilber during his recovery.”

I adopted Wilber over 7 years ago, when I was 19 years old, and he was just 8 weeks old. He has been with me through so many milestones in my life. Both accomplishments and hardships, such as starting college, moving from apartment to apartment, heartache, tears, and struggles, and overall, watching me growing into an adult. Wilber is always by my side and always provides support and companionship, like a good dog does. No matter how hard it was to find living arrangements for myself and a 70-pound dog, or how challenging it was to work, go to school full-time, and be a good dog mom, rehoming Wilber was never an option. In my eyes, Wilber is my first baby, and we need each other no matter what. Just like he made those challenging years enjoyable, it is so important for me to make his remaining years enjoyable. In order to provide the best years to Wilber, it is so important that he has this operation. I hope the photos I included portray how important Wilber is to me and how much joy he has brought to my life. I want to see Wilber enjoy playing with his brother Moose again, chasing the neighborhood cat as she walks back and forth on the wall, playing catch at the dog park. The only way I will see him do those things again is to ensure he gets this surgery. I thank you so much for funding this surgery.
