Frankie’s Friends helped Mellie with an emergency enucleation of her eye due to melanoma. This is a note from Mellie’s family.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for this opportunity to have the assistance and support of Frankie’s Friends on behalf of my very special friend and companion, Mellie. During the earliest parts of her life she grew up as a stray on the streets, soon to be confined to cage at Petsmart where not long after I rescued her. At first, she was shy, very wary of people and would lie with her back to the wall. But, with patience and love, she began to trust me. Every room I enter, every chair I sit in or bed to lie on she is by my side. From a skinny nervous little critter to a lovable lap cat, it really goes to show what a little love can do and the power it has to change. She has been with me through good times and dark times. She listens when I need someone to talk to. She comforts me when I’ve been sick and so when she was diagnosed, my heart was utterly broken. However, I will stop at nothing to get the best care that she needs now and always. Recently, life been uncertain and there have been many curveballs. All of which Mellie has been there by my side for. To have such a wonderful organization like Frankie’s Friends help myself and most importantly, Mellie at this time, would mean a great deal. With that help, my hope is that she will live a long, happy and healthy life with much more love to offer. Thank you again for your support and consideration.
