Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Melk receive emergency eye enucleation for a corneal ulcer. This is a note from Melk’s family.
“Thank you so much! We adopted Melk from Craigslist last summer, after someone posted that he is 12 and toothless, and that they are moving and could not take him. Once we got him home, we also realized he is pretty deaf, and because of that he only has one volume. YELL! He is a very shy boy, but he is so sweet. Your assistance means the world! We’ve had people tell us to just put him down, but he is in near perfect health, and as our vet said, “age isn’t a disease.” He just needs his eye removed in order for him to continue living a full and healthy life.
