Frankie’s Friends helped Pupp receive emergency surgery for a torn cruciate ligament. This is a note from Pupp’s family. “I grew up not allowed to have pets, so I never had a pet before Pupp. My 25-year-old son acquired Pupp as soon as he became stable, and living independently. Horrifically, we lost my son, Tony, due to violence and the detectives asked me if my son had a dog bc he wouldn’t leave my son’s side. Even after they took my son away, Pupp wouldn’t leave the crime scene. I flew to Sacramento immediately and acquired Pupp. My son never had children, but Pupp was truly his baby. Pupp IS MY GRANDPUP, and he is such a beautiful extension of my son, as we have helped each other through the grieving process. Sometimes Pupp still looks over anxiously when someone rings the doorbell in hopes it might be his daddy, (my son). Pupp and my teenage son, who has special needs, are emotionally supporting each other every day. I always say, thank God they have each other! As a single mom, Tony was always a father figure to his younger brother, so it has been extremely difficult for him, as well. Recently, Pupp jumped on the bed and tore his ACL (CCL) and he cannot walk. He is not eating and is losing weight at a rapid rate and we are so worried, Pupp will not make it through this if he does not receive the surgery as soon as possible. The Vet assured us that this breed has a 100% success rate with the surgery, but he will not make it without it. Please help our sweet Pupp and please help our family. In memory of my son, I want to do everything right for his pecious baby. I want Pupp to have the beautiful life he deserves. We love Pupp sooooo much and we are so grateful to the Frankie’s Friends National Fund for your heartfelt contribution and for realizing the impact our sweet innocent, helpless pets have in our lives.Eternally grateful,” — Pupp's Family 1 Comment
