Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Akuma receive lifesaving surgery for a mast cell tumor. This is a note from his family.

Thank you so much for your helping Akuma in his fight against cancer.

When he came into my life as a rescue, at four months old, he’d already been re-homed three times prior. It was a difficult journey for the both of us, but through hard work and lots of love, we found a home in each other.

I’ve always told those who meet him, that above all Kuma’s a lover; A stranger, dog or human, is simply a potential new friend for him to make. He’s crossed paths with so many puppies in his life who weren’t his own, and every time would spend his days raising them with a wag in his tail.

Again, I thank you for helping to keep him in this world. A world with him in it for me, is a far brighter one. He has so much energy, happiness, and affection to give and receive in this lifetime. Kuma’s a son to me, a friend to all, and a father to many.
