Frankie’s Friends’ Joshua Louis Animal Cancer Fund helped Reese receive surgery to remove a soft tissue sarcoma.

Reese is more than just a dog—he is my companion, my confidant, and the heart and soul of my life. At 9 years old, he is a mix breed who has shown me what true loyalty and love are. His journey into my life started in the most heartbreaking way—he was thrown from a moving car on a highway ramp. We spent over an hour trying to rescue him, making sure he didn’t get hit by traffic. When we finally got him home, he curled up on my lap, knowing he was safe—and in that moment, I knew I’d never let him go.

At the time, I wasn’t looking for another pet. I already had a diabetic cat and an older dog, but Reese came into my life at just the right time. As my other pets aged, Reese was always there for them—caring for them as they faced their own challenges. He would lie next to my diabetic cat, Harlem, until Harlem passed away from cancer, and later, he stayed by my dog ChiChi’s side, comforting her through her struggles with dementia. Now, it’s our turn to be there for Reese, as he bravely faces his own battle with cancer.

Reese isn’t just my emotional support; he’s also been a constant presence for my clients. I run a gym where I teach boxing, and my clients come from all walks of life—bullied kids, women escaping domestic abuse, and both amateur and professional athletes. Reese is always there, offering support when people need it most. He’s the first to greet everyone with a wag of his tail, and when the day gets tough, he curls up on their laps, offering warmth, love, and a little bit of peace. He’s the kind of dog who loves everyone—people, other dogs, and even cats—and his presence is a comfort to all who meet him.

Recently, Reese was diagnosed with a grade 1 soft tissue sarcoma on his hip. Thankfully, we caught it early, and with surgery and possibly radiation, he has a good chance of living a long, healthy life. However, the costs of his treatments have quickly added up, and I’ve already spent hundreds on tests and thousands on visits to the oncologist. Now, I’m asking for help so that I can continue to provide Reese with the care he needs to get better and return to his normal, loving self.

Reese has always been there for me and for so many others. Now, I’m hoping to give back to him and ensure that he gets the treatment he deserves. Your assistance means the world to us and helps provide Reese with the chance at a long, healthy life full of more cuddles, more love, and more of the joy he brings to everyone around him.
