Jason was 10 years old when he lost his battle with cancer.
Jason touched hundreds of lives in his service as a TDI certified therapy dog and certified disaster stress relief (DSR) dog. Over the past 8 years with nearly 250 visits at St. Joseph’s hospital, Jason brought comfort, joy and emotional support to patients and staff alike. On his DSR mission in 2009, Jason touched many survivors, including one 5 year old boy who had lost almost everything, yet found a few minutes of peace just petting Jason.
Jason held his AKC Rally title as well as his AKC Therapy Dog title. He was also recognized by TDI for his hours of service with TDI’s Outstanding Volunteer Award.
Jason will be a deeply missed by all who knew him, but we know that while he is no longer with us, his spirit, his vitality and his love of people will live on in the many smiles and memories of happiness found in all of those whose lives intersected with Jason. He was and is a great dog and we know he is in a better place.
