Kirstie Conklin of Decatur lost her battle with heart disease, on Saturday October 29, 2016. After graduating from Gwinnett Technical College, she worked at Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates (Atlanta), as a radiation technologist - a job and coworkers she loved.

She was much beloved by her family and friends - the brightest star in their everlasting sky. She is survived by her husband, Erik Jorgensen; grandmother, Virginia Sadowsky; parents, Deirdre and Robert Eaton & John and Susan Conklin; aunt, Alexandra Gloor; mother-in-law, Jayliene Jorgensen; sisters-in-law, Julie Jorgensen Stein and Melinda Jorgensen Spaberg; brother-in-law, Russell Kelly. She is missed by her cherished pets Luna and Pablo.

Kirstie was preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Conklin Kelly and great aunt, Elizabeth Sacalis.

A very heartfelt thank you to all the staff and doctors and devoted nurses of Emory University Hospital's 5th floor ICU, who were by her side every minute of every hour of every day during her brief stay.

As a friend since childhood recently wrote:

"She was our friend when no one else would be our friend. She was our champion and stood up for us when others were cruel. She listened to all of our problems with such love and was a huge source of positivity and support. She made every one of us feel like we were the most special friend she ever had. And she was funny as hell and she took no guff. So, to all who love her, we are agreed. She is a spectacular and humble champion of love and goodness who always let us in on the delicious laughter. In her honor, may I be more of this in the world to others. May her light shine."
