Frankie’s Friends hosted Lucky Dog Casino Night at District 3 Arts & Events in Tampa on November 5.
Volunteers, Dr. Nicole Salas, Ashley Skalko and Carrie O’Brion, greeted guests with bright smiles as they walked the red carpet into the entrance of a Vegas-style casino floor. More than $60,000 was raised to provide lifesaving emergency or specialty care for local pets whose families cannot afford the treatment costs.
Honorary Chair Lisa DeBartolo joined her sister Nikki on stage as Russell Rhodes conducted the Live Auction. Two tickets to the Super Bowl, a trip to Bimini on a private jet and a private suite for a Lightning Game seemed to inspire the crowd. With merely three items, the team was able to raise $14,500 in mere minutes!
The silent auction included a pair of tickets on West Jet Airline, Disney Park Hooper Passes, Busch Gardens passes and a variety of baskets filled with pet-friendly products.
Winners at the casino tables received Frankie’s Fun Money -- not real money -- which they exchanged for tickets for fantastic prizes.
Culinary treats provided by a variety of Tampa Bay Restaurants including 717 South, Ava, Barbara’s Cupcakes, Hula Bay and Irish 31.
Frankie’s Friends would like to say a special thank you to our Honorary Chair Lisa DeBartolo, whose love of all animals has inspired us for years! We sincerely thank her and our sponsors for their commitment to Frankie’s Friends. Thank you, Candy & Eddie DeBartolo, The DeBartolo Family Foundation and VIP Sponsor Carlton Fields.
