Charlie was treated at BluePearl in Midvale, UT for a broken leg. This is a note and an update from Charlie’s family.

My husband and I have never been so grateful for amazing people like you who help people like us when our fur babies are hurting. I can’t even begin to put into words how much this has changed our lives. Nobody wishes for bad things to happen but when they do people can come from any corner to help you along the way. You have given Charlie and my family another chance to love each other everyday. If it weren’t for you guys we wouldn’t have our sweet baby today. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I just wanted to share with you our story.

“This weekend, we were able to witness that the tender mercies of the Lord are real. Our sweet Charlie Bear broke his leg while playing outside on the day of my sister’s wedding....(perfect timing right?!) We took Charlie to BluePearl Veterinary Partners - Midvale to get it checked. That night, Charlie was sent home with his leg in a cast and some pain medication until we could find a orthopedic surgeon that could take him in as soon as possible. After the vet told us that the surgeon they had available was booked, I went to the front desk to see if there was anything available for a consultation and they had an unexpected cancellation appointment for that next morning. When we arrived the next morning, they gave us an estimate for how much everything would be. As we were talking about ways we could pay for it, this sweet nurse introduced us to Frankie’s Friends Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that could possibly help in our expenses for Charlie’s surgery. After consulting with her manager, the nurse came back and said Charlie was the perfect candidate for their foundation - meaning that if we would pay whatever we could to cover the expenses, Frankie’s Friends would cover the rest. After putting ourselves together again, they also said they could get him into surgery that day and go home with us that night. When we picked him up later that night after a perfect surgery, they talked about how we had come in at the perfect time, because Frankie’s doesn’t always have funds to give out. As we saw everything unfold we couldn’t help but be grateful to our Heavenly Father for blessing us with Charlie, the kind people who took such good care of him, and for the opportunity we had to learn how to get through hard things together. I’ve truly grown to know that these things don’t happen on accident. I know that our Savior has a plan for me and my family. I wanna say a HUGE thank you to the people at Blue Pearl for taking care of Charlie, and especially to the amazing people at Frankie’s Friends Foundation. If it weren’t for you we would have never made it through. We definitely have a long way to recovery, but I’m grateful that Charlie can start to be himself again...which is shown the last picture - he loves sleeping on his back.
