Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund helped Lucio receive emergency Perineal Urethrostomy surgery he needed for a blockage at BluePearl in Charlestown, MA. This is an update from Lucio’s family.
“Lucio has been doing super great since his surgery at BluePearl! He’s back to his loving, playful, curious, and happy self!
Lucio began having urinary blockage issues at the beginning of 2021, and after experiencing ongoing issues with the blockages over a period a few days, we had to have emergency PU surgery. We were very concerned about being able to afford the surgery when we were offered help from Frankie’s Friends. Because of Frankie’s Friends, we were able to afford the surgery which was ultimately successful and saved Lucio’s life. He was recently cleared to stop wearing his cone and is now able to roam around our apartment like before and is doing so much better. We can’t thank Frankie’s Friends and BluePearl enough for being so understanding about our financial and emotional concerns. We were feeling so helpless while watching Lucio go through this ordeal and because of Frankie’s Friends we were able to get Lucio the help he needed.”
