Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund helped Hubert receive lifesaving treatment for smoke inhalation at BluePearl in Des Moines IA. This is a note from Hubert’s family.
“Not sure where to start… but Hubert is doing ok… his lungs are still damaged but goes for another check up this next week. He is eating and acting for the most part like his normal self; a little less running around with his lung issues.
Hubert was brought to BluePearl Animal Hospital late July. Myself, Hubert and my other cat Bella were in bed sleeping.. we all fell asleep and the next thing the security system alarms were going crazy; which woke me up.. I could not breath and I jumped out my bedroom window.. I was rushed to the hospital. Neighbors comforted Bella as she passed… and Hubert was on the verge and was rushed to BluePearl. He could not breathe on his own and was not expected to make it through the night. BluePearl did soooo much to save his life, oxygen chamber, medications whatever he needed. He suffered severe lung damage and liver enzymes were messed up.. he remained in the hospital with daily updates to my cell.
He is part Maine coon and is very attached to me. It broke my heart I couldn’t come be with him. I was so afraid to lose him.
About a week after the house fire, Hubert was released to come home but had to take it easy. He did very well, but had to take it easy and would run out of breath frequently. At his last vet visit their were no signs of his lungs improving.
The assistance, and generous gift to help is what saved his life.. I am speechless to the level of generosity shown during one of the most devastating time in my life.. I lot everything and without your organizations help; I have no idea how I would have paid for his care. To your supported and donors, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassion and care for my fur fur baby. I would have been lost without him. Again, my the deepest depths of my heart I thank you so very much for your assistance with Hubert’s bills.”
