Frankie’s Friends National Fund helped Tina receive emergency TPLO surgery. This is a note from Tina’s family. “To the Donors Who Made This Possible:Every animal parent knows that our fur-babies add more to our hearts, homes, and lives than words can accurately capture. The unconditional love and infectious joy they give us is unparalleled. I think we are all in agreement that we’ve needed those more in the last couple years than ever before. When my boyfriend and I decided to add a “pandemic puppy” to our family, we carefully examined all aspects of our lives that would be impacted. With slightly more mindful budgeting and a commitment to meeting the dog’s exercise requirements despite both of us having disabling chronic illnesses, we expected to have no issue adjusting. And we were right; adding (Quaran-)Tina was just what we needed. We have had no problems with expenses for her care until now. Typically in a financial predicament like this, I would pick up as much as work as my body will tolerate. Unfortunately that is not an option at this time because our household is at high-risk of complications if we catch COVID and, despite receiving vaccinations and boosters, the immune-suppressing medications used in treating our conditions prevented us from producing the necessary antibodies. Being approved for assistance from the Frankie’s Friends National Fund helps allow us to cover the cost of the recommended treatment for our beloved Tina Beans’s TPLO surgery, which will offer her the best prognosis in the long-term. Both Alan and I have both struggled to get our medical needs met throughout this pandemic era due to cost and provider shortage; this grant would help us prevent Tina from experiencing the same issue. We’d much rather continue struggling with our own needs than see Tina suffer another moment. Endlessly grateful,” — Tina's Family Comment
