Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund helped Buddy with life changing back surgery for a ruptured disc at BluePearl in Oklahoma City. This is a note from Buddy’s family.
“Buddy is doing remarkably well. He is still a little stiff on his right leg but overall is doing so much better than before his surgery. Buddy was losing the ability to walk on his back legs prior to surgery. He had been undergoing treatments with laser since 11/2021 and taking pain and anti inflammatory medications with out any results.
Without the help of Frankie’s friends Buddy would have needed to be euthanized because he was in constant pain and was losing motor skills required for him to maintain a normal life. We did not have the means to cover the cost of a $6,700.00 dollar surgery to help Buddy.
Our family cannot express our complete gratitude enough. The grant allowed us to get the surgery and help Buddy lead a normal life again.
We adopted Buddy through the Oklahoma Humane Society in 2017. Buddy spent the first three years of his life being adopted multiple times but then being returned to the shelter over and over. Buddy suffered from extreme anxiety and trust issues. We worked very hard to win Buddy’s love and trust. We just couldn’t bare the thought of putting Buddy down. In the last few years he just started living his best life with us. We are his forever family and we love him very much. He trusted us to make the best decision.”
