Frankie’s Friend helped Walter receive lifechanging TPLO surgery at BluePearl in Sarasota. This is an update from Walter’s family.
“First of all, Thank you guys so so much! Walter is about 7 weeks in from healing his ligament tear and is back to chasing birds and squirrels all over the place! We knew his leg hurt but he was still kinda using it and we thought it was early onset arthritis. After months of medication not helping or healing, I knew it was bad. We were sooo worried when he stopped wanting to walk or stand up even. The last straw was when he fell down our stairs because his leg wouldn’t work. He’s a 70 lb dog and I can’t lift him so I was like - what do we do?? He can’t just lay in bed for the rest of his life, he’s only 3. So I took him in and got the answers. Awfully expensive answers. But Dr. Curry told me about Frankie’s Friends and he helped me reach out. We are so grateful for your generosity. I know his case wasn’t life threatening but in a way it kinda was to us because what is a dog’s life if he can’t walk or run and just has to lay in bed all day? And with probability of the other knees blowing out, I was like well he will have to be put down if his quality of life is that poor. It’s not fair to him. But, thankfully you guys helped us out and he’s doing so awesome! He’s so happy and we are all happy. I have 2 little girls, 10 and 5, and they want to say thank you as well.
