Frankie’s Friends helped Folki receive lifesaving surgery for a fracture repair at BluePearl in Stone Oak.San Antonio. This is a note from Floki’s family.

Hi, my nine month old kitten, Floki, who was my foster kitten for approximately four months before I officially adopted him less than two months ago, broke his femur in his right rear leg. He is an indoor cat and I have no idea how this happened I found him laying on my bed crying less than 30 minutes after I fed him and he was perfectly fine.

I am fully disabled and live on a very tight income. I have been volunteering for a local dog and cat rescue since 2018. I have fostered well over 30 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. In addition, I transport pets to, and from vet appointments, help out on days at the rescue, work, cleaning up the yard, help out with adoption events, fundraising, events, and post numerous profiles to the various adoption websites.

Since I am unable to donate money, I give my time instead. I am not reimbursed for any ofthe expenses incurred, and I have done this willingly. I also donate any of the money Imake for pet sitting to the Rescue. Of course now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t put it ina savings account for these types of situations.

Floki is my third foster fail. I decided to adopt him because he was with me for so long mycat Odin became extremely attached to Floki. He’s been crying for Floki since he went to the vet.

This donation means the world to me, because I would otherwise have to have him euthanized. I have catastrophic health insurance for my other for pets, but I didn’t enroll Floki because he’s technically only been my cat for less than two months. Having this donation meansthe world to me because I get to keep my kitty. It also means a lot since I am so involved in animal welfare that it warms my heart to receive any sort of financial assistance to help with this much needed surgery.

Here’s Floki with his feline brother. Floki is the black and tan one and Odin my orange tabby who I also adopted from the rescue.

I also have 3 dogs. Lucy my chi mix is also a foster fail, and I have 2 Cavaliers. Ollie my older cavalier was trained to be my service dog and is retired after discovering he was deaf when he was 2. Since I am not former military I can’t get another service dog because I can’t afford the training.

My only child passed away in 2010 so my fur babies are truly my children.
