Frankie’s Friends helped Driver receive emergency ACL surgery for a damaged ligament. This is a note from Driver’s family.

UPDATE

I thought you might want to know I took Driver in to vet for his 4 week post surgery visit and he is doing remarkable.  He will limp every now and then but his leg had plates and screws in it. Most of the time when he walks it’s without a limp.  That’s amazing since he hadn’t used his leg in months prior to surgery.  The vet said the bone is almost healed but have to be careful of soft tissue damage for the next 3 weeks then if all good I get to slowing wing him into walks then play time.  He feels better so he want to play now but he has to wait.  I wanted to thank everyone again that donated money for him.  I’m glad to have Driver back and not in pain much anymore and we are working on that now.  You saved his life because I would had to have put him down cause there was no way at all I could pay for the surgery and he was going to loose function of his leg not using it and I couldn’t have him in pain everyday.  It’s not fair to him because it’s been over 2 years he has hurt everyday.  1 year on the other leg i had fixed then as soon as it healed this one.  Thank you so much for the help you have given me and others.

I just wanted to tell you and everyone that donated thank you so much. Driver had surgery today and did well. He’s hurting pretty bad but it will take well over 6 months of therapy and being careful to not let him do anything physical for months (hard to do with a border collie obsessed with frisbees and balls). It broke my heart to see him hurt everyday and not being able to use his leg. Without your help I was afraid I was going to have to put him down cause he was in constant pain and here was no way he would get beter without this surgery. Now because of your help I will have my pain-free best friend back. I can not tell how much you touched mine and Drivers heart. I couldn’t have done it without your help so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Here are some older pictures of Driver. He’s not feeling so photogenic with the the medicine he is taking. He’s an amazing dog and he deserved another chance in life. Thank you thank you.
